Focusing on giving newer stripteasers a place to hone their skills, and experience performers a chance to polish new acts, this night of fresh flesh will leave you reeling.

Hello my loyal subjects!
It’s been a while since my last post, so I’ll look to the future and then the past!
Next week I’m off to The Great Burlesque Exposition in Boston! It’s such an honor to be an invited performer after winning the Howard Award for Judges Choice last year! I’ve been rehearsing and amping up my costume, and reviewing my lesson plan. Asides from performing in The Rhinestone Revue on Friday, I’m teaching “Composing and Songwriting for Burlesque”, and sitting on several panels. You can check out the Expo at http://www.burlesque-expo.com
Then, right when I get back, I’m producing “Sing and Sling: A Musical Burlesque Show”, Thursday April 12th at Re-bar. This show has been a dream of mine for years, and I’m proud to share the stage with the vocal and teasing talents of Heidi Von Haught, Ella Titsgerald, Olatsa Assin, and Sara Dipity. You can purchase tickets at http://singandsling.eventrbrite.com
The last piece of ‘future’ news is I was accepted to perform in The 3rd annual Colorado Burlesque Festival! I’ll be performing at the Opening Night Gala, Thursday, July 12th. This means I’m meeting my goal of performing in 2 burlesque festivals this year! You can find more info about the fest at http://www.coloradoburlesquefestival.com
Now, for retrospective news! I had a fabulous week-long stint in Vancouver, BC, and I LOVE VANGROOVY! A Special thanks to the Producers I worked with: Michael Kushnir and Quinn Peters of SPIT!, Burgundy Brixx of Kitty Nights West, and most of all to the ladies that made this all happen. I’m speaking of April O’Peel and Violet Femme, who produced The Pink Unicorn Cabaret. It was an honor and pleasure working with them! You can see a FABULOUS REVIEW by Little Miss Risk of the event here: http://abortmag.com/index.php?s=pink+unicorn&sbutt.x=0&sbutt.y=0&sbutt=Go Here’s a little sampler taste.
“The evening was hosted by Seattle’s EmpeRoar Fabulous, who is just that. A bombastic blue boylesque performer, his entertaining herding of these strange and wonderful cats akin to watching Rafael Kubelik lead the Vienna Philharmonic.”
NOW for my final retrospective. March 25th was my return to producing with “FAGTASTIC! A Queer Cabaret”. It filled my heart with Joy to work with such a ridiculously faggy lineup!
That is all for now!
Hello my dear minions!
Well it’s been a little more than a week after BurlyCon (the Burlesque Educational and Social Convention, which you can check out at ), and I’ve finally returned to Earth! So many wonderful classes! Some of my favorites were The Wonderful World of Self Creation from World Famous *BOB*, RECYCLE! REUSE! REPAIR! Glamor on a Budget with Tamara The Trapeze Lady, and Embodying Boylesque Character by Waxie Moon.
I was pleased to add addition material to my class, Composing and Songwriting for Burlesque. Asides from talking points that had been in the classes previously,I lead attendees through some of the processes I use when composing and choreographing simultaneously. The response was wonderful, and at the request of several of the students in class, I’ve decided…
I will be expanding this class into a 4-5 WEEK CLASS SERIES in Seattle and a weekend workshop for other cities. I’ve already been adding to my curriculum, and I’ve very excited to share my skills and perspectives. This fits perfectly into my vision for the Composed Exposure series, and students from that class will have the opportunity to perform in events of that series.
There’s a lot of work to be done still, so no dates as of yet, but stay tuned!
Big fat glitter kisses,
Hello, My dearest subjects! It has been quite a while since last addressed you. I have notes saved and will, eventually let you in all the fun in NY, things have been a world-ind, and now, more than a month later, I am finally posting…
i am proud to say that
I WON THE JUDGES CHOICE AWARD at the Great Boston Burlesque Expo!
I also got to perform with Scandal from Bohemia in her act in The Rhinestone Review the night before, where Joan Arline, Dusty Summers, and Jonny porkpie also performed.
It was a great event, I taught my classes “Persona Versus Personality’, and “Composing and Songwriting for Burlesque”, as well as saw many of my dear Burlesque friends, and made new ones. These networking opportunities are working their way into me going to New Mexico and Florida, stay posted for details.
Now, to announce a NEW PERFORMANCE SERIES!
“Composed Exposure” at Debauchery
“Composed Exposure” is a series of work that is all either new, rarely performed, or experimental, with the common thread that each act features original musical compositions and striptease by award-winning Musician and Burlesque performer EmpeROAR Fabulous!!!. The diverse project will incorporate improvised music, spoken word, live vocals, performance art, organic movement, classic-inspired as well as neo-burlesque, and comedic and dramatic element, all in varying proportions. “Composed Exposure” will launch Thursday June 16th, 2011 at “Debauchery”, which occurs at 8 O’clock P.M. at ReBar in Seattle. It will continue there monthly until further notice. Tickets can be purchased at .
June also brings my inclusion into an exciting series,The Beebo Brinker Pulp Cabarets. This is one of the hottest tickets of the summer! It is based on the iconic 1950’s lesbian pulp series “The Beebo Brinker Chronicles” by Ann Bannon. The Author herself will be in attendance at the next performance, Thursday, June 30th, also at the ReBar, but at 7:30 p.m.
Check the “Come see me” page for the rest of upcoming performances! see you there!
Hello citizens of The Kingdom of Cumalot! So sorry for the delay between posts- it’s been non-stop business since I’ve gotten back- before I give you the next (rather, first) chunk of New York’s adventures, I want to promote that I’ll be performing in Through The Looking Glass: The Burlesque Alice in Wonderland April 28-30th at the Triple Door in Seattle. This is one of my favorite shows, back for our 3rd run there (and 4th run overall) chock-full of Burlesque A-listers like Lily Verlaine, Miss Indigo Blue, Kitten La Rue, Waxie Moon, Lucky Penny, Babette La Fave, Ben DeLaCreme, Polly Wood, and more! AND not only will April 29th be my birthday, but also Miss Indigo Blue’s, AND Paris and Trojan Original’s! A wonderful birthday gift would be to see each show sold out! So check out
HELLLLLOOOO NEW…ark. Yes, landing in Jersey may be slightly anticlimactic, but I’m almost there! The flight was slightly turbulent, but the headrests craddled, so it like like I was being rocked to sleep, or in the opening movements of an Aveda facial.
I’m doing “the Mile High Club” while I’m here and was thrilled to see my plane had the inflatable lifevests, not just the “seat also functions as a flotation device”. I ‘considered’ nabbing it for my act- it seemed to be a perfect omen. But they are amazingly hard to get out from there! Physically speaking, as being such an upright citizen I would never (!) actually pilfer such a thing. 😉 it just will make me remember “seat cushion also functions as floatations device” next time the flight gets rocky.
So on goes the long and boring drive to the huge and exciting city.
I Leave for New York TOMORROW! And I also just got the email that I’ll be COMPETING IN THE MAIN EVENT at The Great Boston Burlesque Exposition in April!
